Celebrity Presentation Task - Half Term.

You are required to produce a Power Point Presentation of between 6 and 10 slides on the subject of


Celebrity Culture



You should include illustrations and text and consider the following:


  • What do we understand by the term celebrity?
  • Where in the media would you expect to find celebrities?
  • Who would you say are the celebrities that are getting most media coverage at the moment?
  • Why? What have they done?
  • Are all celebrities represented in a positive way in the media?
  • Give some examples of media texts were you will see positive AND negative representations of celebrities.
  • Consider the following statements about stars and celebrities:
  1. Famous people need the media.
  2. The media should not invade the private lives of stars and celebrities.
  3. Stars are complex representations of real people.
  • Image manipulation and celebrity.

This will be presented in the first week back after half term

You will present in this order on Thursday November 6th:

Be prepared to field questions at the end. FIVE minutes per presentation.

You will be graded on the following success criteria:
  • Confidence in delivery. 
  • Body language. 
  • Clarity. 
  • Text to picture ratio. 
  • Transitions.

Image manipulation

Task 1: 
Open the remaining images below in Adobe PhotoShop and manipulate them to conform with feminine/ masculine ideals. 
Consider the list you created, celebrities want to show themselves as having the following attributes:

Smooth skin, less wrinkles.
White, healthy teeth.
Clear eyes without dark circles.

Try using other manipulating tools from the toolbox in PS.

*Don't cramp your own style by working too small. Enlarge the image to a size that suits you.

Save the resulting images in your home area, Media folder for marking.
